New to MD. NEED HELP!

hey I just moved to Cambridge, MD. I primarily like ot hunt deer, ducks and turkey. Any advice anyone can give me on where some good spots are or places I should check out to help me get ready for next season would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - C

You are close to blackwater refuge ,we apply nearly every year for sika deer permits ,it is a fun hunt, small but very tasty. I believe the Pocomoke forest also has some good public hunting for whitetails. Lots of big bucks on private land. Goose hunting , some of the best in the world. Good luck.

Jeez man,I wish you all the luck.Getting permission to hunt private land in this state is like pulling teeth.Your own that is.I've been hunting here my whole life and I know. There is a lot of public land though. You could look on a map and locate State Parks. That's where you'll find some of land offered for public hunting use.Right off is a place called Myrtle Grove. There is a 100 yd shooting range there also. That's where I go to shoot.

I don't mean to hijack this post. We pass by Myrtle Grove on the way to Indian Head when we visit my girlfriends parents. How's the hunting there?

Have you ever been to the range there?I've never hunted there. There are nice guys who work there you could talk to about the hunting. When you go in, to Myrtle Grove, go all the way down the dirt road to a building on the right.Park there and go inside. This is where you'll have to go to get a range permit anyway,it's $5.00for one day,You can get a season ticket but I don't know the cost.Don't shoot there without a permit. If the DNR catches you I hear the fine is hefty. It opens at 9:00 am.I'm going to try to get there this Wednesday.I still need to fine tune my Traditions Pursuit.I'm close to getting 2" groups at 100 yards.I only shot one group at that range so far so I need to shoot more to be sure.
