New Hunting Show

Anyone get the CURNT channel on Comcast?  Tuesday nights they have a show called Kill it, Cook it, Eat it.  This is a great show about hunting and really casts hunting in a very positive light.  It's a UK produced show and filmed through out England and Scotland.  It's premise is all about how important hunting is and the role animals play in feeding humans.  They take a few die hard vegans and take them on a hunt.  Basically having them hunt,  kill, and thank their quarry for food.  Then they have them field dress and process the animal to get it ready for the dinner table.  Every show ends with them enjoying and appreciating the fruites of their hard labor.  British vegans don't seem to be nearly as hostile or closed minded towards hunters as the American variety does.  They actually seem open minded to it and willing to admit how important hunting was and is.  I just enjoy watching the end where you see a vegan finally reformed and has a better understanding of what hunting is all about.  Excellent show.  I highly recommend it.  Glad to see the Brits doing something like this.

CURNT?  Never heard of

CURNT?  Never heard of it.

That sounds like a great show though.  Vey cool when they add the cooking on to the end of it.

I like shows that do that.  2 of my favorite are Oneil Outside and Babe Winkleman (sp?).  They both have a part at the end where they cook something that they were hunting for on that episode.

I did a google search and it talks about bringing them from the "pasture to the plate".  Is it only farm animals, or is that a general term referring to any animals taken from the field?  Do they do animals that were hunted?

animals

Looks like they do a variety of hunts - biggame, upland, waterfowl, etc.  Not sure if they are ranch or farm raised animals or not.  It's in Britain, so I can only think that all the hunting is done on land owned by the nobles or the elite of Britain.  Likely game preserves I'm guessing.  I don't know.  It does appear to be fair chase and done in the wild.  It's a great show, nothing at all like what we're used of seeing on Outdoor Channel or Versus channel.  I only discovered it when flipping cartoons for my kids on the cable network. I saw the one a couple weeks ago where they hunted a stag, that was a great episode.  Last night they ran 3 one hour episodes back to back and then re-ran them later in the night. I DVR'd the three.  Can't wait to watch them when I get a chance.

I just went through my

I just went through my channel list and the show is on right now but unfortunately when I clicked on it I found out I don't get it. I only have basic as I'm too cheap to pay for anything else.

Oh well I'm sure I'll find something to stay entertained.

darn

That sucks.  We're likely going to be going to basic cable soon ourselves.  I want to email the producers of that show and the channel itself and let them know what a great job they've done with presenting a show like that.
