Again, thank you to everybody

Again, thank you to everybody for all of the tips.  I stopped by a hunting store near my house the other day to look at rifles and other misc. equipment.  I started to talk with one of the employee's (an older gentleman) at the store and sat there with me for over 45 minutes giving me tips and pointers.  I even told him that I wasn't ready to buy a gun and we was still helpful.  He gave me some great pointers.  He is even going out next week to hunt wolves in Utah and Idaho.  He mentioned to take a hunters safety course and of course practice shooting.

Utah?

Hope he wasn't planning on wolf hunting in Utah.  Big no-no.

Otherwise that sounds like a good person to buy from.

Edit:  turns out that there is an area in Northern Utah that wolves can be killed, but certainly not by the public, just UT and FWS

I am not sure on exactly where and how is going to hunt wolves.  He mentioned that it is a big problem with the elk heards and there have been some attacks on humans.
