New Here; Reborn Hunter

I recently moved to where the woods are in my back yard literally! I've done some scouting and only found one buck last year (7 pointer) and plenty of doe. This year no buck at all, not even a rub or scrape. The one thing though that got me wanting to hunt again was a bear.
I decided to take my 2 dogs with me for a walk in the woods. Something i hardly ever do. I was walking down a old logging road and chased a doe and 2 fawn out. While the deer ran off i had my dogs sit and i crouched down with them. I watched then for a little bit and one of my dogs looked over my shoulder like she saw something. I turned and looked nothing was there. I continued watching the deer, again the one dog looked over my shoulder. As i turned to look she started to growl. What i saw this time was the biggest black bear i ever saw. It went about 400 to 450 poundsmaybe bigger. It was also a cinnamon bear. As i got up the bear saw me and we both turned and went our seperate ways(or ran our seperate ways). My legs were pretty wobbly after that. The bear had followed us down the road. Bears are supposed to have such great sense of smell why didn't he go the other way? The bear was 20 yards away from us. I bought my first bear license this year. I hope to get this bear in Nov. There are 4 other bear around my house as well. One that goes about 300 pounds and the others are small ones. But i will settle for any of them.
For the first time in years i want to go hunting again. I missed a 4 pointer the last time i went out which was about 10 years ago and put my gun away. I'm like a kid at christmas time i can't wait until then. I will post pics if i do get any of those bear.

strange

It is strange that you should mention the unusual behavior of the bear, but I live in quad country here and I have heard of bear actually chasing quad riders right to their homes in town, they have become very agressive over the past several months,as is every other form of wildlife out there.
Incidently, have you noticed the insect population. What a difference, they are also very aggressive and their colorings have changed drastically, nothing in the insect world as I remember it ,is the same.Just to mention a few abnormalties,We now have common house flies that bite, mosquitos as big as birds and bats that have lost their radar,as I personally have had four bats hit my jeep in the past month,at over 40 miles per hour while driving down country roads.
Also I noticed that there were no bats to be seen in my neck of the woods until about a month ago,no-one else saw them around here all summer either.
Strange,very strange.

Here is one of the bears by my house! I have 2 other pics but he's behind the tree in both. The cinnamon bear was seen yesterday by my neighbor, he says easily 400 plus pounds!
