New Hampshire retirement

Well I think I have had enough of this fine state of New York , land of taxes! With my land tax increasing every year and to say nothing of our hunting and fishing license going up almost 45% this year. I think it is time for me to think about retiring in the next few years to another state. My thoughts are moving to New Hampshire," live free or die ". I love the season changes and do not like the hot southern states. Anyone out there have any suggestions on the subject? Think

How about Montana? Montana is a beautiful state, with lots of hunting, not to mention Mule, & Whitetail Deer. I definitely don't blame you concerning New York. I have yet to get my license, and I'm seriously considering not getting it. I simply don't see where there's justification for a license fee increase without accountability. Of course, the other reason, is that I just came off a 6 month lay off, and I simply can't afford it.

Hi Hunter, Montana is a little far away from the family here. That is why I am thinking of the North East.
You are not alone with not purchasing licenses. I have heard a lot of grumbling on the subject. I wrote to my State Senator DeFrancisco and he said all state republicans voted against the license fees. I guess that goes to show you. All of us better be out there voting on election day.

I agree 100%. The Republicans will definitely get my vote. I just think the license fees are out of control. The real shame of it, is that within a year or two, we're going to get socked with another increase, courtesy of the recommendation of the NYSCFAB. Their meeting notes verify this. It's crazy...........

Since we lost our republican governer Maryland is going down the same rd., Maine has a bunch of liberal repubs, your choices are narrowing every year. We need to turn this thing around next year....

You might want to rethink moving here to NH. I'm a native & we are over run with moonbats from Mass. They are really screwing up a once great Red State. I like the saying "stop massing up NH" .

I agree, especially in the north of VT & NH, or the NW of ME. Politics are politics, they ebb and flow over time. Ya just pick your spot and vote your conscience. But license fee's are going to go up everywhere, its just a budgetary reality. Brick Wall,)

Hi Jim,
I have to agree with "Eiger99". People from Mass have moved to NH and are slowly bringing NH down. Northern NH is still pretty good but southern is indeed being taken over by the beautiful chosen transplants from MA. New England is great but your not to far off from NY here anymore, Very Sad.....
