Glad to have you aboard Elmer..... you will love this site.  Everyone seems very friendly and more than willing to help.  I've only been a member a couple of months and love it.  Were you stationed at Lewis?  My son started his career there twenty-three or four years ago and is now stationed in Maryland.  He has done a lot of traveling and been fortunate enough to do lots of hunting wherever he was.  Good luck in Alaska.  That's one base my son didn't make it to.

Great pictures of you and your daughter with the fish.  I haven't fished the Nisqually but I know there are some nice fish that come out of there.  Did you get to do any hunting while in Washington?  Lots of blacktail on Fort Lewis.

Yah I was stationed at Ft. Lewis but was unable to hunt due to deployments but I did fish when I had the time. This is my 2nd round in AK (last time I was at wainwright). Just really got the itch to get out there and bag a blackie this spring (already scouted a few areas but its going to be a nightmare to stalk blackies on foot but I am willing to give it a shot). Sooner or later when we get settled in (prob after this upcoming deployment) I will pick up a snowmachine or quad to get me back deeper and register a bait station but this year will be a learning game for me.

Welcome to the forum . Be sure to give us all the details if you get that bear or even get to stalk some. I would love to get up there and give it a try someday myself.

Yah I will be starting to check some areas out prob. next weekend for spring blacks but right now I am really looking to link up with a local and buy into their bait stand just so I can be shown the ropes and what not.
