New Gun for Versatility

I've been shooting a 270wsm. I load everything I shoot and have a preference to 140gr Accubonds for everything. Mine are home rolled cloverleafs. I have a friend that shoots 150gr Silver Tip factory loads, in his 270wsm, for everything. He says he is getting 1/4" groups from these factory fodders. They both work very well indeed. Both are very capable for anything up to and including Elk.
Find one bullet of 140+grs and shoot it exclusively. If you are unsure stick with a 150gr and use it for everything. You'll be able to get 3000+fps with the 150gr. That is plenty of pizzaz for any critter in the lower 48 out to 400 yds.

That's pretty good to shoot "1/4" groups" when the bullet is larger than .250 from a .277 caliber projectile. Laugh

Must have shrunk from .277 to .250 while going so fast in a 270 WSM. Thumbs up
