new to big game hunting

been bird hunting in my home state of indiana all my life. went deer hunting a couple of times. now i would like to do more big game rifle hunting. i need a good primer on the discussion of "units" as it pertains to colorado. just a lot of information on seasons and licenses that i don't know. thanks for any comments. scott.

You'll want to check out the DOW's big game page:

It has a file there that shows all the units.

There are 4 rifle seasons which divide the span of time between mid October and mid November.

There are some units that are over the counter tags, but if you are planning on hunting next year you should apply for draw only tags. Deadline is usually April 1 for the year in which you wish to hunt.
