Re: nevada 2010 apps and regs are out

I alway hunt the rubies, i know the area very well. Right know im comitted to a 6 party hunt. Ten years ago i was invited to hunt out of the smith creek main ranch and was introduced to some of the neighboring ranches for access and have been going back eversense. I alway put late rifle first then early rifle second.

That (111-222) ely area is okay for deer but you better go for elk as second choise and first choise elk go with (231,241,242) there, and if you dont want to travel to far go with (221-223 late) first choise (231) second choise, and (111-113 late) third choise, and (114-115 late) fourth choise and (111-113) fifth choise for deer. Note: these are all great rifle hunts in your area.

yeah 231 totally slipped my mind when i applied for elk:::]] . i put 111 for my 1st choice. i cant belive i forgot about 231. as for deer 111-113 is my 2nd choice. for deer its a good draw odd 1/4 for rifle i belive . you can also put in for 101-108 its just north of you and they give out a bunch of tags for that area. just be prepared to see more hunter ornge than antlers, unless you can get back in the country some accouple of miles on horses. anywhere is good for deer hunting in nevada its just the problome of getting a tag.

I guess i better get some regs and read up on some of the hunts. I just dont have very much time before the deadline.. What area should i put in for antelope... How do the points work? And you can put in for every species right? Also I archery hunt so what i have better odds at an archery elk or deer tag as 1st or 2nd choices... Thanks for all the info guys I really appreciate it.

Best area for antelope is other side of Reno unit 33 early ,and units 32,34,35, and unit 12-14, and unit 15. For archery elk units 231,241,242 and units 111-115,221,222

Yes you can put in for all the different species and archery does have better odds. Nevada has the best bonus point system, everyboby has a chance, they square their points, example four points would be 4X4=16+1(for this year)= 17 chances

Doesn't look like too many people apply in NV, guess it is kind of spendy. This will be my 4th year, though. Good luck.

Nevada has always been a sleeper state. So lets keep it on the down low, it will give me better odds in the draw Whistling
