Need Proven Coon Dog

We live in rural Oklahoma about 1 1/2 hours south of Tulsa and about 1 hour west of Ft. Smith, AR in Stigler,OK looking for good proven coon hound to show these youngsters we have how to hunt. We're not rich but will consider a reasonably priced dog. Preferably male we don't need any pups. Thanks and happy hunting. My e-mail is drd91@inbox.com.

I use to get Full Cry coon hunting magazine years ago, I think they still publish it, try running a classified ad in it and I'm sure you will find some great dogs to help train your pups.

Re: Need Proven Coon Dog

Thanks for advice I have several people e-mailing me here locally since I placed an ad on craig's list so far not too many finished out but still talking to people. We have a 2 1/2 year old, well my father-in-law does and 2 of her pups but she's not been much of a teacher they need a good dog to hunt with. We took them squirrel hunting this past weekend and didn't see a squirrel one so I ordered some coon scent and I'm gonna try and work with my pup that way til I can find a good dog.

I hope it all works out for you and you can find a great dog to run your pups with. What kind of dogs do you have?

he's 1/2 black and tan and 1/2 running walker I have his daddy who was supposed to be a coyote dog but he never was any good at that. Hope his pup will do better with coons he has been out several times squirrel hunting with his mom who is a full blood black and tan, her daddy was the biggest black and tan in Arkansas he weighed like 130lbs. I should have kept her I guess but bark bark bark all the time she used to back talk us when we had her as a pup not mean but just mouthy when we'd tell her no she's a mess but I gave her to my father-in-law cause we couldn't go outside for her barkin. Anyway I will try to post updates on here if we find a good dog.

130 pounds, now that is one huge black and tan. I have had a couple of blueticks and my dad raised redbones. I sure do miss huntin coon with the dogs. My kids have heard so many stories over the years, I think they have the fever too. lol

well get some dogs and get out there!! I can't wait to find a good hound and get in the woods. I just enjoy being outdoors in God's creation and spending time with my boy and the dogs. I don't think this old world is gettin any better I am so tired of the rat race and all the materialism it's just nice to be out in the quiet of the woods.
