Need advice Whitetail hunting Colorado, Weld County?

I would really like to go whitetail deer hunting. I have never hunted Whitetail deer. I have had my share of nice mulies, and now want a new challange. I live in Estes park, and I have heard there is decent whitetails in Weld county which is not that far from here. I guess the problem is finding land to hunt on. If anybody could pass on info. on contacting landowners who would be open to letting me on during archery season, I would be very grateful. I would be willing to work for location or pay reasonable money. A person at the DOW mentioned whitetails being in area 191 near Livermore, anyone else seen them around there? Thanks

Anywhere along the South Platte will have whitetails. Some of those ranchers will let you on if you ask but you'll have to drive out there and start doorknockin. You might want to check with DOW but I think they're some public ground along the Platte.

Thanks Hiker, I've heard about Northeast Colorado up by Nebraska. I think that area takes some preference points and is pretty far away though. Where in Colorado are you at? Elk hunting any good there. I'm able to harvest a cow every year here in Estes with private land tag.

I live outside of Castle Rock. We have some elk around here but I usually hunt the western slope.
