We need this guy in CA too. Lion populations are seriously affecting deer populations, and human/puma incidents are on the news with much more frequency. Personally, I had never seen a mountain lion in the wild in the over 20 years of hunting I have until 3 years ago. Now, I have seen 4 in the last 3 years.
The anti Lion hunting law was passed in CA some 10 years ago. While every county in the state except 2 voted against the law, the 2 counties that voted for it were SF and LA, neither of which are known for their hunting opportunities. With the populations of those 2 counties carrying the vote, the law was passed. What a joke!
