We need this guy in CA too. Lion populations are seriously affecting deer populations, and human/puma incidents are on the news with much more frequency. Personally, I had never seen a mountain lion in the wild in the over 20 years of hunting I have until 3 years ago. Now, I have seen 4 in the last 3 years.
The anti Lion hunting law was passed in CA some 10 years ago. While every county in the state except 2 voted against the law, the 2 counties that voted for it were SF and LA, neither of which are known for their hunting opportunities. With the populations of those 2 counties carrying the vote, the law was passed. What a joke!
I just got back from my elk trip to Colorado and must say that I learned quite a bit about hiking in that one trip. I researched all I could on the internet and thought I was prepared going out. For the most part I was but I want to pass on a few major things I learned that helped me drastically!
1. Pack light. I know this may sound like common sense but believe me. After reading everyone's advice on what you need to pack, chances are your pack will end up weighing more...
