On my Soap Box ::hammer:

Ok I have been nice but I will pull out the “Soap Box”:

Set up to do the reloading for fall: got the cases prepped, have the powder and primer but need bullets.

Down to the store (Exit 4 in Reno) and buy the bullets, 6 boxes: 2 box .308, 2 boxes .243 and

2 Boxes .224, this should get me past Turkey day.

I am very anal about my reloading; every thing is in groups of 50.

.308 short 3 bullets

.243 short 4 bullets

.224 68gr short 1

.224 60gr over 1

5 out of the 6 boxes are short: So I got on the company’s web site  and sent them a letter letting them know that there quality control program is slipping. I know everything is packed by weight, but they have a problem.

Will post the results of the letter:

I am off the “Soap Box now”

I had a similar problem years

I had a similar problem years ago but it was with shotgun shells.  I bought ba few boxes and some of the shells had been loaded with too many BB's and they would not go into the barrel as they were swelled so much.  I called them company and they asked me how many shells were bad and out of 2 boxes or so it may had been 10 or so.  He asked me to send him the shells and then he would get back to me.  I fugured when I sent him the shells that would be the end of it.  Week or so later I get a call from him and he would not stop apologizing.  He said they would send me some shells and what I would like...I asked for some steel loads or maybe some #5 lead as I had a pheasant hunt coming up.  To my surprise a few weeks later I had 2 cases of shells delivered to my house.  I thought that was awesome of them to do that, I still use there shells today because of that.  Hopefully you get something for your trouble.  Sorry to hear about that too...you wanna tell us which brand?

bullet's

If they make it good, let's hear who it is. And of course if they don't. I seem to remember that Hornady used to pack bullet's 101 to the box. I counted a few times and there was 101 every time.

You need to weigh the bullets

You need to weigh the bullets on the ones that were off and see just what the difference is.  A few grains one way or another can make a big difference in what is in the box.  I also have to ask how were the boxes sealed?  With the factory tape or a piece of scotch tape?  I have seen quite a few boxes that have been opened at the store for people to see what the bullet looks like.

I will give them about a week to respond and post the results of the email.

All containors appeared  to still have all the factory seals intact

Hopefully that it is not my

Hopefully that it is not my bullet os choice maker.  Means I would have to start paying better attention to the count in the box.

I had a some what similar

I had a some what similar problem recently but it involved a significantly larger caliber bullet in a box of 7mm caliber Scirocco II bullets.  Also had a short box of 30 cal bullets the same week from Nosler.  I too remember when you would get 101 bullets in a 100 count box.
