My second hog hunt coming up.

In two weeks my boss and I are going on a two day hog hunt in Centerville Texas. I've hunted feral hogs before but this will be the first time I've gone after Russian boars and Javelina. Since my last hunt I bought a Sig Sauer 516 AR-15 and was hoping to use it for this hunt. But the minimum cal they require is .243. They said they just don't have good luck with .223 getting the job done. So it looks like it will be the .300 Winmag again which works devastatingly well at any distance.
Some of these hunting outfits use AR-15's exclusively with night vision for hog hunting. Are Russian boars tougher to kill than feral hogs or what?
