My season in review

Had a good season. Harvested two moose with a gun one 41'' and one little paddle(2yr old). Saw 16 moose in three days two of us(5 bulls). One monster whitetail. I forgot my grunt tube and home so couldnt stop him(I tried whistling LOL). Estimated around 200" gross. Helped my dad arrow a 226 non typ mule deer. Never shot at a whitetail but saw lots around 140-150''. Next year bow for them. And my highlight of the season had a huge bull elk(huge for Saskatchewan anyway) 60yds(out of my range) but called too much and he pin pointed me and the rest is history. i still have nightmares about that. It was weird he had 10 cows already and it was only Aug 22 and bugling like a son of a gun. I learned alot about that experience the hard way.

Pretty sweet season - especially the moose. Thumbs up

I took a nice 145-ish 5x5 whitetail when I was home for rifle season. I miss being a Sask resident - I'd love a crack at moose and elk.

Tell me about it....I think everything I know about deer hunting has been from screwing something up. Laugh

Wow sounds like a damn good season to me..... Thumbs up

I started hunting in May last spring for turkey and kinda watered out on birds..I found a decent set of Moose horns for this area.....then Aug came around and I started scouting and looking for bear...and seen lots of sign and a sow with cubs but never connected......Seen some elk but didn't bother buying a tag....Deer season came around and I missed a decent Muley in the Early rifle...then during the late-season I connected on a nice 4X4 white-tail....I also helped a kid from school get his first deer this year....a doe at 175 yds and dropped her in her tracks....Now I have been chasing yotes and looking for a cougar....I had a chance at a bobcat but it was a short one....

season

As I look back this was by far the most memorable year for me. Here are the highlights:
Spring bear:

Pheasant and Sharptails with my young dog:

Goose hunting with my daughter:

Moose with friends:

A blue goose (I've tried to harvest one for years):

First ever buck with my muzzle loader:

Every year I like to try to "out do" what I accomplished the year before, while I realize this isn't always possible I'm definately looking forward to next year. I'm setting my sights on turkey and elk for new hunting adventures next year as well as the usual bear, deer, moose, upland, ducks and geese.
