If I were you, I would do 2 things, First I would do some checking to find out how much life insurance your Dad has on you. Then I would find out if Dad is in some kind of financial trouble.

That 458WM recoil is going to kill you.

The 458 kicks like a son of a gun. my cousin shoots a 375 win mag for brown bear in alaska and he comes back with bruised hands and shoulders and he's 26! and 458 is bigger than that. it doesn't take a whole lot to knock a deer down. especially a whitetail, i would go with something way smaller such as a 243 or 270 if you can

he told me that it would be better than his 3006 for me. he said it's not a 458 win mag but its a 458 lot. he said i would like this gun better than his gun. he told me not to worry about recoil. just point and shoot i think the rifle says cz or something

Suggesting to a boy that a 458 win mag is suitable calibre for him is in my mind, nothing short of child abuse. Don't do it.

Almost sounds as if someone is pulling our leg. The logic and idea of using that caliber rifle is ludicrous.

My son is also 13. I got him a 7-08 for his first deer gun He loves it. Will last him a lifetime.

When I was 12 I was shooting everything 458 has kick but nothing seems to matter when your that pumped about the animal in front of you just make sure you shoot it before the hunt make sure your not scared of it LOL.
