My first muzzleoader buck

I passed up the little guys! It was a great time - this buck was sneeking along a ridge and i didn't see him until he was less than 20 feet from me....I think we were both surprised to see each other. He has a broken brow tine and scars on his face from fighting. I'm a happy hunter with a great MN buck.

Hello from Germany!

Waidmanns Heil and congrats to this nice buck. Tell us something about your rifle and charge.

I used a Thompson Center Omega with 110 grains of triple 7's. I really like the inline muzzleloaders with the 209 primers. I was in the snow and rain all day and was able to shoot the buck and three adult does without any problems. The best thing I can suggest to others that are starting out - is practice your tail off and know your gun.

sweet buck. love those up close and personal encounters. had one come zipping along a ridge right into me once. nearly peed myself when that one was over with. hunting on the ground and he was on a well worn trail that ran about four feet from me. shot him at less than ten feet.
