My Favorite Bullet

I wish you could create a poll on this web site. I am curious to what is everybodys favorite round is. Without a doub,t mine is Federals Barnes Triple Shock. 165 Grain shooting a .308, we have taken 3 Elk in a years time. My Sons Bull taken last week made me even more convinced that this round is perfect for my rifle. He dropped his Bull in his tracks like I have never seen before.

I believe everyone has a round that shoots best for their rifle, and coming right out of the box and after shooting 1 shot to foul my barrel if I recently cleaned, my groupings are awesome. I can't imagine reloads shooting better than this. I hate paying the price, but at the same time confidense and accuracy is everything.

Mine would be the 225 grain

Mine would be the 225 grain Accubond out of my .338WM.  The last three elk I have taken never knew what hit them.  I even took one at 355 yards and the bullet has a complete pass thru and she fell where she stood.  I also use the same bullet for my 257 Roberts and .270, in different grain of course.  The 270 did great on antelope this last season.  I would recomened the bullet to anyone.

I use 180gr winchester

I use 180gr winchester supreme XP-3 out of my 30-06 and they work great out of my gun, I'm glad the price has come down, when I first started using them they ran about $50 a box now there down to $35. I dont shoot my gun as much as I used to since I started bow hunting but I still love it.

Nosler Partition

So far, I like the Nosler Partition in 250g in the .338 WinMag. It's done a really nice job on elk. The holdover is about the same as my .280 Rem with a 160g bullet so I aim at the same point for the range. I have some other combinations I would like to try but is EXPENSIVE to shoot the .338 with premium factory loads. I have some Federal 160g Barnes loads I want to try also.

I have taken elk with a 130

I have taken elk with a 130 grain winchester western silvertip from my .270 and have taken one elk with a 225 grain fushion from my .338 Winchester Mag. Both of these combinations did the trick but I will not be using the fusion ever again. I will be reloading something else. I have killed over ten elk with the .308 Winchester, about half with the barnes tsx and the others with the nosler e-tip. These are great bullets and I wouldn't hesitate reloading them for any of my rifles.

Wide Range

This is what I thought I would see. Everyone has a specific round and rifle. Keep them coming.

Mine is 139 grain Hornady SST Interbond in the .284. Very fast and very mean.

good choice

The 180gr accubonds are a great bullet out of the 30-06, out of my 06 the 165 and 180gr bullets shoot the best. i went with the 180's for everthing, there a little big for deer as fae as damage but work great on elk and would assume they would great on black bears. hopefully soon I'll get the chance to find out.
