2010 Elk Hunt
Again everyone, Thanks for the great compliments !
As far as the rest of my hunt, the 2nd to the last weekend on Saturday I got to within 80 yards of a giant bull twice. Once in the morning and again that evening. I did not draw my bow, but a great experience non the less. My son and I got on 7 other bulls that weekend and my son got to within 35 yards of a small 5 point, but did not take the shot due to a poor angle. Also they were screamin big time !
The last weekend was not quite as good when it came to the bugling, but my son did get a shot that last evening and over shot him. Luckily he did not realize how big the bull was (320+) or he would have never gotten his bow drawn back.
Still a great hunt and what great experiences. Now its time to chase big muleys ! Good luck to all out there still chasing the dream.

Sorry you or your son didn't
Sorry you or your son didn't punch your tags. But the experience with your son will mean more to him in the future. He's lucky that he has you to take him out to experience the outdoors. One day he'll look back on these experiences and thank you for being a great dad. Good luck with your muley hunt.
