My 2012 Kaibab deer hunt

The burnt forest held most of the deer while there was no weather. We hunted during a hauntingly full moon. We had to thighten our shoe laces and put foot presure in the canyons of the old burnt forest.

On day eight my buddy took a nice four point at the edge of the burn. W e must have seen 100 deer the day and 18 of them were bucks.

On the morning of day nine I found a nice 4X5  fallowing 6 doe's just before the sun came up, they were in some heavy brush at the bottom of a small canyon.

The party was on this night!!!

I'm still a couple of years

I'm still a couple of years away from it still so I'm not going to sweat it yet.

Right now I am playing around in my home unit here in Colorado. I have a hunt that starts on the 14th and so far we have found 2 definite shooters and one for the last day. Of the 2 shooters one is about a 195" buck and the other is high and heavy horned which I actually like better than the 195" buck. I saw them both again this morning and backed out of the area and left them alone. So hopefully tomorrow at this time I should be able to post some pictures of me and the buck. That is unless some elk hunter fowls up the hunt for him.
