My 1st Gator!

Alright, so it isn't a real gator, but it is as close as you can get within the state of Colorado to actually shooting a gator.  It may be as close as I ever come to shooting a gator in my lifetime.

Anyway...it was at a 3D archery course at Aurora Reservoir.  It was a good time, and I feel like I got some good practice in.  Looking forward to going back next year.

Dancing I'm glad I got someone with this post!

I agree that gator hunting with a bow would be quite the challenge. Luckily, it isn't on my lifetime list at the moment, so I may never have to find out how big of a challenge.

After watching some of the

After watching some of the shows on TV now days I would hate to see the size of line that you would have to have on your arrow to reel that gator in after you shot him with a stick. I wouldn't say that you couldn't do it but their brain isn't much larger than a walnut and is protected by some bone so a one shot kill hit there would be almost by accident.

I know that when I was in Texas when I was a kid a friend took me bow fishing for alligator gar and that is enough to get the blood a pumping.
