During the Ohio Muzzleloader season I was finally able to connect on a nice buck. The hunt took place on about 30 acres of woods that butts up to several hundred acres of woods that I and no one else has permission to hunt. My stand was placed about 100 yards from the property line. At around 4:30 in the afternoon I spotted a few does sneaking through the trees. I slowly stood and turned to be in position if a buck showed. After I was facing the does I heard deer coming from behind me. I was slowly becoming surrounded by deer. Time to move slow to say the least. The deer arriving from behind me were two young bucks. One basket racked 8 point and a forkhorn. Much to my delight A dandy Eight point was slowly following the two doe. After a few moments waiting for him to present a clear shot I squeezed the trigger on my knight disc rifle. After the smoke began to lighten I saw him running hard tail down and then just before he got back over the property line he went down. Very happy with this buck as i have passed and even had some bad luck on shots at big bucks over the last few years.
