Those big ones like that one

Those big ones like that one in the video always seem to come out of the woodwork when most of the seasons are closed and the rut is getting started.  They get awful dumb when those does start coming in and it's good that most of the season don't coincide with the rut so that those genes keep getting passed along.

Don't think I agree entirely. If those big ones get harvested it give a chance for the younger ones to get their genes in to the pool. In the long run it's better for the population because it's reduces inbreeding. But I am not a biologist, just my opinion. Big smile

Some nice bucks there and yes

Some nice bucks there and yes I do see most of the bigger ones after our regular sesons are over or in the last season when I don't have a tag for deer.

But I agree with Topgun and think it's better that a lot of these guys make it through the rut and carry on business.

Probably 2 more years till I draw another 4th season tag in Colorado.

one thing is for sure, it's hard to get them during the season, which make it worth that much more when you do get one.

Don't kid yourself wyodude!

Don't kid yourself wyodude!  Those younger bucks are getting their fair share of the does at the peak of the rut because the small percentage of big ones can't breed all the does in any given area!!!

Great video, those old bucks

Great video, those old bucks sure do know when its safe to come out. a few years ago while out elk hunting i saw one of the biggest bucks i have ever seen, of coarse deer season was over and he knew it as he just stood there stairing at me at about 50 yards. i took a picture but dont know where exactly it is. it would be nice to see one in season though.

Very cool.  I have always

Very cool.  I have always talked about doing a goat hunt out in Wyoming, and have family that has land out there.

But, from the looks of the mulies there, maybe I should be looking for a combo hunt or something.

thanks for the video.  Gets your blood pumping.
