Like what kind of info are you looking for? Ripple Creek Pass is in unit 12. All elk licenses, except for the combined deer and elk rifle seasons are by draw only. All deer tags, regardless of season are by draw only. Play it cagey............There are always left over tags after the drawing is over, and these are usually available around the 2nd week of August. Lots of elk, but then again, lots of elk hunters. By getting back into any area a good mile or so, you're going to elimiante the majority of the hunters. Post a reply if you have any ?'s.
There can be too much of a good thing with antler rattling.
I like to hit the horns together for a good 30- to 40-second rattling sequence and then hang them up and resist the urge to hit them again.
This works to the hunter's advantage, because if a buck has heard it, he may have been 300 or 400 yards away and he comes in and he's not exactly sure where it came from.
When finally is time to rattle again throw a slight change-up into the routine.
The second time, don't rattle as loud...
