And I know nothing about the South, but I know I like to hunt.  I am wondering whether my Utah hunters' safety is sufficient or whether I need to seek any certification in Alabama.  I am mostly interested in hunting birds, pigs, predators, and antlered deer with a rifle (no dog).  What do I do, get permits and start walking through national forest land?
