+1 to Ca_Vermonster. If you haven't seen the elk rut in Rocky Mtn. National Park you are in for a doozy. Good luck finding another place like it in the state however! Confused

Just don't stand next to any trees on main street, the elk may try to use you as a rubbing post......

While the don't use you for a rubbing post every year there are a couple of tourist that end up in the hospital after they try to get too close to a elk and either get steped on or gored.  The elk take over the town during the rut and are quite unpredictable.

You'd laugh too, have you ever seen it?  Amazing.  Every tree down main St., each fall, is rubbed clean by the elk that are wandering the town.  They lay down in peoples' yards, golf course, etc.  Pretty cool....
