I was wondering if anyone here has either attended one or are planning on attending one this year. I started to go to them in the 80's but haven't been able to get away to one for 10 years or so. I am planning on doing the Fort Bridger one this year over Labor Day weekend. For those of you who have never been it is a great time to be had by all. Weather you are paticipating in any of the events or just sitting back watching grown men and women have as much fun as can be allowed and still stay out of jail. Not to get too serious, the competition schedule includes a frying pan toss in addition to the usual shooting, skinning and archery. There are also classes in everything from scrimshaw to recognition of herbs.

Sounds like fun!
Never participated in one, or even been to one. Would like to at least visit one, sounds like a lot of fun!
My idea of roughing it is, bringing along the camper.

You need to plan on attending
You need to plan on attending one of them they are great fun watching grown men and women running around like they are kids again. There is one going on this weekend in Pinedale, Wyoming. A good web site for checking them out is.
As far as roughing it is conserned, trailers, campers, and motel room campers are all allowed. That is unless you have a teepee that you want to put up.

When I first started going in
When I first started going in the 80's I would enter the rifle shoot and knife throwing events but haven't been to one for about 10 years now. I thought that it would be interesting to get back to one and see what is happening.
