Sounds like the DOW is really cutting loose with the tags.

I hope we don't lose a lot of the elk and deer to a heavy snow this winter after a dry spring and summer. However, it seems to me that if you wanted to assure more elk/deer made it through a bad winter you would want to leave the population higher going into the winter (meaning less hunting tags). Assuming that there is enough feed to go around....

Good point. On the other hand I would really like to see some heavy snow this winter. Unfortunately a heavy winter will be hard on the game animals though after it has been so dry...
