We're on the line (almost literally) between Z50 and 63. My brother reports good "numbers" of deer but hasn't seen much to speak of in the way of decent bucks. Which is odd since we have pretty good intel that very few were taken from our local area last season and we saw a TON of awesome bucks, and if it was natural population depletion (predation or winter kill) it should have affected the whole herd, not just the big bucks. We think they're holed up somewhere and perhaps a bit spooked by the elk season (there were a lot of elk hunters out our way this year). We're hoping once the rut hits they'll reappear.
I'm not worried, I just want to hunt. If I end up taking a doe I'm OK with that.
