Hi everybody, i'm new here ad I want to present to you one very successful but vary rare hunting dog called Montenegrin Mountain Hound. We trained my dogs for wild pigs, rabbits, foxes, dear etc. But every dog is trained especially for one game only! I'm posting some pictures with dogs in action. This breed is recognised by the FCI and recently this breed has won a couple of Championship Titles of "Best in Show". In "Hunting Trial Shows" whenever entered this breed has won top marks. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ANY QUESTION ABOUT THIS BREED AND I WILL BE MORE THEN HAPPY TO ANSWER, THANK YOU.

Wow, those are good looking dogs. I would be real proud of them too! ![]()
Thank you Hunter 777 for your lovely comment. This breed of dog is recognised by The American Rare Breed Association and American Kennal Club will recognise them if they are breed in America. I have 14 Champions with highest marks in "Hunting Trials" but my personal mission is to spread this old rare breed to the most countries that I can. All of our dogs are fully trained for certain game specializing in different catergories:
Fox, Rabbit, Wild Boar, Deer, Wild Cat, etc.
Only after they finnish complete training and satisfy all Breed standards we pass them on to new owners we do complete veterninary tests also.
We were successful in Greece and Italy also Slovenia but we do not know anyone in America or Canada that can maybe work with us to introduce this stunning Breed there.
That is enough of my story and thank you again!
good looking dogs they closely resemble our american black and tan
Hi tnhoundsman,
I think that the American Black and Tan is an absolutley fantastic dog. He's 3 to 5 inches taller then the Montenegrin, he has a sharper longer head, longer ears and measured from the point of shoulder to the buttocks and from withers to ground the length of body is equal. The Montenegrin dog has a rectangular appearance given that the body is about 10% longer than the height measured from the well pronounced withers.
I think that the Montenegrin Black Hound would be proud to be associated with its bigger cousin The American Black and Tan.
how is their nose for trailing and grit for fighting? i hunt plott hounds myself who are know for having a lot of grit for fighting bear and boar
I can tell you without sounding bias that in the field they are absolutely unbelievable.
We run something that we call "48 hour old track" where we test dogs can they follow properly animal that they are trained for which passed a track 48 hours earlier. The Montenegrin Hound didn't lose once up to now.
We train them to follow an animal and prepare them for a shot and with no problem in all weathers they can work over 8 hours non- stop.
For engagement with a Wild Boar Ican only tell you that we don't use and "dog armour" and up to now no serious injury has occured that we would need to call a vet.
For Bears I can only tell you what I saw when I was invited by a group of hunters who had bought dogs from us and they were involved in Bear hunting; I saw them running the bear to exhaustion.
sound like a very good well rounded dog.
