Montana Damage Hunt Available in Portion of HD 640
A friend and I traveled to MT last weekend to hunt this late season damage hunt. The FWP provided names of landowners who needed help, and everyone was very grateful to have us hunt. We arrived Saturday morning, hunted Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and returned home. The total number of deer seen was very high, and the hunt wasn't hard.
Winter is tough on whitetails, that is an accepted fact.
You can help the quality of your herd by providing winter plots - that are not necessarily designed as kill plots.
Having what I call green plots - that the deer can browse in when most of the other food is gone, can greatly benefit the deer herd when they need it most.
