Ha I missed a five by five whitetail with a droptine on one side in EASTERN WASHINGTON. Biggest deer I've everseen over there. He was quartering away at 200 yards running. First buck i've ever missed and won't be the last one. Sadly the following weekend I had to go to a funeral in Seattle. i Normally hunt blacktail aroud my area but i got to eastern washington for opener this year pretty exciting. How bout you?
When calling coyotes, more often than not they will circle on a target they are
coming into and approach from the downwind side. Presumably they do this in
order to align what they smell, with what they are hearing.
This means that you should always have your downwind side camouflaged and have
an open shooting lane. If the area is heavily covered the coyote could come in
take a look and be gone, with you none the wiser.
