MO Rifle season opening, are you having ANY troble with.....

Mo Rifle season opens this weekend. Is anyone else having trouble with people IGNORING your posted purple paint, your No Tresspassing signs, your Private Property signs, and your Property owned by...yada yada no anything allowed signs? We are also finding that they are cutting our fences coming in off the National Forest, and even going as far as jerking out posts, then proceeding to drive their ATV's all over our bottom land. Brick Wall,)

Anyone else having this trouble? Anything we can do about it?

Thanks!

I'm not sure where in Mo your from but it seems like if you go south of I-44 you get alot of disrespectful rednecks that feel like they can do whatever they please! Down around Sullivan and St.Clair, but where I've been hunting in Dutzow, North of the Missouri River people seem to have a little more respect. Maybe its cause they're aren't as many hoosiers?

LOL Yeah, last night I watched in horror while hubby was in the back in his tree stand and 2 trucks both with flat beds came in with about 4 ATV's on them and lots of hunters. This morning, hubby was down in the stand maybe 30 minutes and came back up to the house. The ATV's are rip roaring like there's no tomorrow and the idiots are firing their guns like it's redneck new years. I watched, again in horror about 20 minutes ago as the are now pulling in RV's and parking on the ridge on our neighbors property!!!! I'm like...OMG HOW MANY of these morons will be out there???? And rifle season isn't till tomorrow, AND NO ONE is wearing orange!! They're gonna kill somebody. I'm staying in the house!! No telling how many of these 'people' will be showing up. I'm in SHOCK!!

Oh yes, and we have LOTS of purple paint. Still have about 10 cans of spray, and it seems to fade so fast, we got a few gallons and have been brushing it on. We've got 52 acres so it takes awhile to go over it all. We had found out the first time we painted that our property fence is off the line by about 200+ feet to our disadvantage. So we'll need to fix that.

Didn't get one yet. Was shocked unspeakable today as a 12 point GORGEOUS buck walked past 10 yards from the back door. I froze, then yelled BUCK, hubby hollared for me to get my gun, but I didn't get it in time. LOL Oh man he was NICE!!

Barnold

Sunday morning I was so disappointed, as we saw that those hunters took 2 of the baby deer we watched grow all summer long. And we didn't know how many of the Momma's they took. We don't go after does and babies, as we want them to keep the herds going. Anyway, I was so upset and had to keep telling myself "They are not my deer, they are free roaming wild animals". You may or may not believe this, but last night I saw more deer that I've EVER seen!! There were over 20 in the front yard, at least 10 of with hubby counted as bucks, and 10 more in the back yard!! I'm in heaven!! Missouri Heaven! I was so thrilled to see we still had deer left I wanted to call my FIL and tell him....till I noticed it was 12:15! LOL So I waited till 7this morning. LOL

I'm so glad I found this forum. Hard to talk on my women's gardening forum about deer hunting, etc. Most of the people on there think you are out there randomly killing Bambi. Hmmm...must have been raised in the city. LOLOL

Have a great day and happy hunting! Me, I'm glued to the windows again today. The wind is blowing over 30 mph and we had rain and hail earlier. It came down hard and with a fury, right after 3 does and an 8 point went across the front. I opened the kitchen window and had my gun ready, but he kept staying on the top and I didn't want to chance a bullet out there by the highway. Waited for him to drop down in the valley, but never did. I can't wait....I'm so enthused about season and rut starting. It's soooo cool watching the bucks going chasing after the does. There was a buck fight last night when all those deer were out there, and then this eery screaming noise (animal not human). So I don't know if it was the bucks or if one got on a doe. I'm still a green horn. LOL Any idea?

No idea what the niose could have been but you mentioned wind? Its been sooooo windy around here, I live right by the MO river and its been really nasty lately, last night it was so windy when I was walking back to my car that the wind was actually blowing me around. not joking, and I weight almost 200 lbs. Other than really crappy weather, its been a decent season so far, I just need to get a wall hanger.
good luck, sounds like youre seeing much more action then me!

Evil! In wyoming the land owner doest have to post land and you have to becareful. so just drive around and ask and most times they will either let cross there land or hunt. But as sportsman we owe it to the land owner to ask if them boys from up north would have asked me i would have told them were i had planed to hunt but they had a whole week to stomp my place flat. the turkey had moved to a friend of mines place he is who qued me in to what was going on and i even ran in to these guys at a station they then seen who i was and i aint little. i told if they came back there would be trouble im not sorry because they stole from me and up here in mo. you a low life if a thief french canadian hunt to eat Love missouri and .wyoming
