I hunt mainly Deer and turkeys. Will get out from time to time and chase a few pheasants. Plenty of deer in the state, if you know where to go and have access to hunting land, either public or private.
Hello, Another MN hunter here. I'm in Wadena. I hunt mostly deer and bear, don't have time for much more than that. I do get a few grouse when I'm up north bear hunting. Welcome, I live in North central Minnesota. I am pretty much a bear bum. My "hobby" for years has been studying habits and habitat of mature boar Black Bear in Northern Minnesota. I still do some deer hunting but spend much of that season guiding family members.
Moose calling can get confusing to some, but cow calling is your main tool when moose hunting. If you go out and buy moose calls I would say you're wasting your money unless it is the birch bark cone. I find most store bought moose calls sounding worse than puffing a grunt your hands to make the call. You can roll up a piece of birch bark in a cone shape to use as a call and spend your money on a video that teaches you the basics of a cow call. A milk jug or a coffee can with a hole and a rope...
