I hunt mainly Deer and turkeys. Will get out from time to time and chase a few pheasants. Plenty of deer in the state, if you know where to go and have access to hunting land, either public or private.
Hello, Another MN hunter here. I'm in Wadena. I hunt mostly deer and bear, don't have time for much more than that. I do get a few grouse when I'm up north bear hunting. And I think I would like to try for turkey. I'm retired military and currently a Realtor, so if you or anyone you know is looking for hunting land, let me know and I'll track it down for you. I like nothing better that to walk through new hunting lands.
Welcome, I live in North central Minnesota. I am pretty much a bear bum. My "hobby" for years has been studying habits and habitat of mature boar Black Bear in Northern Minnesota. I still do some deer hunting but spend much of that season guiding family members.
Let me start off by saying I am not a farmer.
I am a deer hunter and I do own a tractor and have all of the equipment - but that does not make you a farmer any more than standing in the garage makes you a car - well, you get the picture!
Having said that - and with most of my ineptitude fairly well hidden - I do think that buckwheat is one of the most under rated cover crops out there.
I say cover crop because I see mixed results as it relates to the deer eating the plants.
