Middle Musquodobit Range

To whom it may concern, the public range at Middle Musquodobit is closed due to damage during the recent flood. Some staff at the office that takes the bookings aren't aware of this and will book you a time slot, but when you get there, the road leading into the range is fenced off and washed out.

So when you call to book your slot, confirm that it's open before heading out there.

Thanks for the info. Saskie. They don't maintain the ranges very well down here, do they?

I was more suprised that they didn't know the range was closed. That part of the province was hit fairly hard in the flood, and a lot of gravel roads washed out, so that wasn't a suprise. I just figured that the field crew would have told the office.

Welcome to the NS gov't. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in fact they may not even know they have a right hand.

That is definitely true. At least the ranges are free. I thought for sure there would have been a service charge.

I miss home...you want to shoot, walk out into the pasture and blast away whenever you wanted.

I think I asked Chester this once, but the reason you can't shoot in a field is because of NS laws, correct?

The short answer to that is yes, although I think if you're a landowner you can as long as you are 400yds from a dwelling, place of business and 800yds from a school.
