What are the major advantages of both types? I know that mechanicals are suposed to shoot closer to what your bow will shoot field tips. Are there any other big differences?

from what I've seen the
from what I've seen the mechanicals seem to have a bigger cutting diameter, In oregon we can only use fixed blade so i dont have any first hand experiance with mechanical. I wish our law makers would change the laws, I wanna use the NAP blood runners, even if they failed it would still be like a fixed blade with a legal diameter.

to add to that I havent
to add to that I havent noticed a differnce between my muzzy 3 blades and my field tips. they both fly the same.

I have used both fixed and
I have used both fixed and mechanical. I used thunderheads which were great. I now use Rage 2 blade which I love even better. They sure leave a nice blood trail.
