Sorry, don't know any pack outfits in the area, but I have the same plan you do. There is two of us so there is some redundancy if one of us blows an ankle or worse a knee. I am almost there with a first hunt license. What hunt do you have?

Hitmgood: I'm first rifle season, either sex permit like you. I woke up with a pain in my right calf Monday that felt a lot like a pulled muscle, like one I've had a couple of times years ago when I used to run on concrete. So far I have not ruled out a pulled muscle, but I was able to run pretty strong on it last night (ran 4.5 miles at 5.5 MPH, half of that with a 6 degree slope dialed into the treadmill). It might just be a muscle pang from exercise (though why this would happen when I have been conditioning for months and have not increased my intensity level lately -- just resumed where I had left off after a normal 3-day rest interval). So, I'm concerned if this calf pain is a pull that the stresses of carrying heavy packs and climbing steep hills may make this injury worse. Might make a series of four 3 mile pack out of 50 LBS pack loads tough to do. Thus my interest in a back-up plan.
