So I know you guys take your fishing seriously up there. What meat do you cherish more elk/other game meat or salmon? I'd be taking the wapiti but all I know is that I wish we had the salmon fishing you guys have.

I always get the
I always get the "you're-so-lucky-to-live-here" lecture from people that come out to visit. But I kinda feel that way about the northwest... as far as fishing goes atleast.

I would trade it fishing wise. The ocean fishing here is unbelievable, but I am a fresh water guy. I would love some salmon and trout anyday......

I prefer elk, but i do like a good bbq'd salmon, I try to catch 6-10 salmon a year for salmon steaks and smoked salmon. steelhead are fun to catch too.

Forget about the salmon how about the halibit, and crabs? That is one problem that I have is that I like them all and really don't have a prefence of one over the other. But then if you called me and told me that you had some king crabs for dinner and I had an elk steak thawing out I'm afraid that the elk steak would have to wait till tomorrow.

halibut is my favorite fish
halibut is my favorite fish the only thing is my fishing spot for salmon and steelhead is like 10 mins from my house where its a 2 hour drive to do any halbut fishing.

My parents just got back from
My parents just got back from Alaska... Complete with a hundred pounds of halibut! I can't wait to dig into a big halibut steak.
