Expatriate, why bother? This is the same guy that posts stuff from Comedy Central to rebut a speech by Chris Cox of the NRA.

"Comedy Central to rebut a speech by Chris Cox of the NRA" because they seemed so equal in seriousness.

BTW the NRA used to hate McCain because of his campaign finance laws. I like the NRA's stance on many issues, not on others. I think they should stick to being an organisatiton to promote safe gun use and to promote the shooting sports. Then I might join. As it is they contribute money to the same people legislating against health care, or for pre emptive war.

Don't look now your guy is up by 3 in one of the rolling 3 day polls, even in the other, I'd expect by the end of his bounce he should be up by 10 at least. What happened to whatshername from Alaska.

My point with Chris Cox is don't quote biased sources and expect me to believe them or I'll quote Comedy Central, same differnence.

No one quoted Chris Cox. I shared a video of his speech. There is a difference between quoting someone and sharing their speech.

I would feel silly too if I relied on Comedy Central as a source of information and then got called on it.

I am a member of the NRA so I think my opinion of their direction counts more than a non-member's. I think they are absolutely doing what they should - protecting the 2nd amendment. Without the ability to own and use guns we would not have hunting and need to teach safe gun handling.

The polls don't really mean a lot. The polls counted Clinton and Bush out, but we know how that turned out.

The only thing that matters is the final electoral college vote in November.

As far as having you believe what the NRA says, I stated in the beginning of the thread that you and the other KA drinkers wouln't be swayed by the video and that it wasn't intended for you.

You seem to like to argue even when no one is trying to argue. It is a simple speech, no need to get upset over it. It was a good speech, but not a great one but man it seemed to push your buttons.

Chill out and enjoy life - you're opinion is yours and mine is mine. You vote your way and I'll vote mine. In the end, we'll both hope it ends well now won't we?

I predict an impending chang in the media's coverage of Sarah Palin

It is patently obvious that she has incredible appeal to the electorate, and that attacks seem to be bouncing off of her. The learned this lesson with Reagan -- the only way to stop a media-savvy politician is to cut off their access.

The only way they can counter her is to stop covering her. Sarah Palin sound bites will likely drop off. We won't hear from her anymore -- instead, the media will explain to us what she said, complete with their spin on it.

The media is ticked that she doesn't kowtow to their elitism, and they're mad because they weren't given a chance to vet her (i.e. prepare dirt in advance) before she went public. They're also in the tank for Obama, and therefore she must be stopped. If they can't destroy her, they can silence her.

Speaking of Comedy Central, I thought I might through this in

Subject: A Disturbing Trend

The photo below captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect wildlife in the US.
Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to
the Democratic Party. They have apparently learned to now simply sit and wait
for the government to provide for their care and sustenance. lol

Maybe that's why the communists in Russia chose the bear as their symbol...

Hey, redrider I'm one of those Democrats and would like to ask you if you think I live off of handouts? Do you think I've ever lived off of Gov. handouts?

Just like you repubs cast insults and then feign hurt and bewilderment when the same is done to you.

I'll answer the question I just posed which is no I've never taken any type of assistance from the Gov. and have served this country in uniform.

Can the same be said of you CVC or are you one of those we support the troops by putting a yellow ribbon on our vehicle and voting for people like Bush and Mccain who wanted to cut GI benefits for our troops, but who when they saw it was going to pass tried to take credit for it.

Like I said because repubs aren't truthful if Obama wins and four years from now we all own more guns then we do today, even though you guys are so assuredly telling everyone he'll steal your guns you'll create some deception to explain it all away. Same thing if your lot in life is better if your taxes are lower, if health care is more affordable, you'll explain through your kool aid induced stupor that it's really due to Mccain almost winning or Bush's previous eight years that it happened.

The flip side of that is if Mccain wins and Iraq tours are extended and more troops die, and health cares continues to get our of reach for most Americans, and Corporate America continues to rake in record profits while Americans lose jobs you will find a way to blame it on Obama or Clinton.

And you have the nerve to talk about kool aid, we've had a repub controlled admin and Congress for seven of the past eight years who've created the situation were in now and you guys still want to use scare tactics to bring in more of the same. Well in the end if the past eight years haven't opened up anybodies eyes we'll get what we deserve.

There is a lot more to Obama than simply his anti-gun stance that I'm against. I'm not crazy about either candidate, really wish we had another choice this November, however when I tally up what's important to me, McCain comes closer than Obama.

So you're unhappy with Bush. However Bush and this country have had some tough years. Clinton did not have 9/11 to deal with and he was in office during a prosperous time. He had the privilege of being president during an "easy" time. And no Clinton and the dems cannot take credit for that prosperity. By the way, he didn't do anything about health care either. The health care problem has been around for a long time, it didn't just happen during Bush's tenure.

SoCo its not as cut & dry as you make it sound between the repubs and dems. However historically the dems do tax more and do hand out more money.
