Here's an article on her church and pastor. Some will love it and others may not, but for me this is the kind of thinking that should be far far away from the White House. Believing you might go to hell for not voting for Bush or praying to a divine being for any political reason seems very similar to me of the outlandish thinking of other religious extremists. Almost a milder Taliban like way of thinking. Also, do you want a persons finger on the button who believes in an Apocalyptic world view?

How is this any different than the reverand wright sermons on down with whitey, ect ect. You cant defend obamas church on one hand and demonize another church via sound bytes and news articles not unless you are willing to do it equally.

I'm not excusing what Wright said, but since you asked what the difference is here in my view is what that difference is. Wright's rantings had to do with the treatment blacks received in this country in a certain time in our history of which he was a recipient of that kind of treatment. He chose a very poor way of expressing that especially if he had any kind of concern, which apparently he didn't, for Obama.

To me that is different then a preacher implying you are going to go to hell or your salvation is in jeopardy if you don't vote for Bush. Or praying for your agenda to get pushed. That is toxic.

I like the fact that Sarah Palin is a life NRA member who actually hunts and fishes. I agree with SoCo, she's pretty hot, I think.

I agree with Expat's post. Palin brings a lot more to the table than most people give her credit for. The media has been brutally vicious. I'm not listening to that crap and will do my own research. I like what I've been reading. She's not a Hillary replacement and was never meant to be. And to imply that women will vote for her simply because she's a woman is ridiculous.

As for the "hot" remarks. Any woman finds that insulting. Hot has nothing to do with whether you're a good candidate or not, or if you have brains or not! So she's easy on the eyeballs, that's great, but we need to look a bit deeper. All those photos floating around the web are nothing but photoshopped images.

As for her family problems, it just makes her more human. Even Obama acknowledged that her family is off limits and has a right to privacy. Her daughter's pregnancy does not make her less capable of being a VP.

Interesting take on the choice by two conservatives who know the system well.

Peggy Noonan, Mike Murphy Caught On Tape Disparaging Palin Choice: "It's Over," "Political Bullshit," "Gimmicky"

Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan and former John McCain adviser, Time columnist, and MSNBC contributor Mike Murphy were caught on tape disparaging John McCain's selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.

"It's over," Noonan said.

When Chuck Todd asked her if this was the most qualified woman the Republicans could nominate, Noonan responded, "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Murphy characterized the choices as "cynical" and "gimmicky."

I love how you guys and gals rationalize! If Obama's daughter's were a little older and in this situation the right from Rush, to Hannity and Orielly, would be on it like flies on !@#$! and the base which is you folks would be drinking it up and asking for seconds. But, since it's your guy and gal it's 'Oh, there so human and divine to handle it so well,"!

Sorry cowgal, but the hypocrisy gets hard to take sometimes.

She is a proponent of no sex education and abstinence and yet couldn't even influence her daughter to wait at seventeen! That is in direct contrast to one of her political positions.

So what are you going to do? Paste a scarlet letter on her mother and tell her that her career is over?

Do you have kids SoCo? Teenagers in particular? If yes, you should know how contrary they can be. All the preaching in the world does not work with some of them. So the daughter is pregnant, its not the end of the world. Its not like it hasn't happened many times before. Get a grip, there are a lot more serious problems.

Help me to see the light by showing me proof that she is against sex education. No media report, actual proof of it.

Hey, you have made a very good case for sex education and birth control. Well done!

Her pregnancy isn't that big deal to me other then seeing how overboard there going to try and deal with it since Mccain I don't believe knew he would be dealing with that when he picked her. Hell, they gave the kid a haircut and flew him to the convention, their making it a big deal.

I never said I was against sex education or birth control.

The family is simply trying to show that they're going to deal with the pregnancy as a family and the father is going to step up to the plate and take responsibility. What do you prefer? That they kick her out and she ends up on welfare?

I'm not condoning what Bristol and Levi have done. But its done, and now they have to deal with it.

The bottom line is that it does not affect Palin's qualifications to do a good job as VP.
