Some time ago I posted the notification of a simple competition with a Free Hunt in South Africa as first prize in another section of this forum.
Judged by the number of entries recieved, many may have missed to posting.
However since the original posting some very generous donors have stepped forward and made some very significant additional offers of trophies and services to make this hunt really worth-while. IMHO it certainly warrants spending a bit of time on to prepare the free entry!
The Andrew McLaren Safaris 2010 Free Hunt now consists of:
Up to 10 hunting days at Mervilla for Grassveld species.
Two nights and hunting at Malalankwe Game Farm in North West Province.
The choice to bring along an non-hunting observer and/or fellow hunter at "cost price" for both daily rates and trophy fees.
Two blesbuck - a trophy ram and female (have horns also) plus two springbuck - a trophy ram and a female (have horns also) plus a trophy steenbuck ram, as my original offer.
A Warthog trophy boar - thanks to unnamed gentleman donor.
A non-trophy quality (bent horns, one horn or similar) gemsbuck bull thanks to Michael Muller.
The winner’s choice of one of a blue wildebeest, black wildebeest, gemsbuck or red hartebeest trophy bull plus one of a blesbuck, springbuck, duiker, steenbuck, warthog or impala trophy males, all thanks to the generosity of Luan Lombard.
Full details of the Free Hunt as it now stand is available at http://www.mclarensafaris.com/currentclient.html
I invite all that qualify to enter – and give Steve and his fellow judges a hard time in deciding on a winner!
In good hunting.
