I just shot the new Mathews Z7 and think I have to have one now. Fast and smooth. Lightweight too.

Yes the mathews is fast and smooth. last years model was haveing problems with the string hitting the roller gaurd , wearing the string. this years model they angled it over a little bit and added a string stop simular to hoyt to cure the problem.

I'm a hoyt only person. But the new hoyt maxxis has limbs like a PSE and the roller gaurds like a mathews. They all copy each other. They just tweek it a little and claim its different. Same as the auto industry. They just keep getting better. You got to love it.

They actually did more than angle the roller guard - it is now reversed. Unlike the Reezen or the Monster there isn't a big breakover hump. It was a smooth draw and completely silent and dead in the hand upon release.

well i consider it to be copied. they cant come up with there own ideas. i do have to give credit to the reversied roller gaurd that is original to my knoleage

I am not absolutely certain about this and I will admit I am too lazy to research it as it is not very important, but the slim limbs on the Mathews bows - isn't that original?
Bottom line - there are really no bad bows out there today. All do a great job so it comes down to personal preference. I've owned PSE, Hoyt, Bowtech, Black Widow and Mathews.
Each is great, but I really love the Z7. Sure besides the bow there is the hype and I'll admit that.

Being a hoyt guy. The only bad thing i can say about Mathews is i wish they would make some new TV comercials, and when im shooting against my buddy whom owns a mathew reezen. Its just fun to talk trash during compatition. All the top bow companies produce top qualty equiptment. P.S. Hoyt rules

You know I see PSE commercials, Bow Tech commercials, Mathews commercials, Ross commercials but no Hoyt commercials.
They must be so good they don't need to advertise.
