Welcome Tony - I've been through your town many times driving to and from Sask. In fact I spent the night in the parking lot of the Subway there one night when for some unknown reason every motel/hotel in S Manitoba was full, and I was too fried to keep driving.

Are you living in Sask, or u just travel their often?
i live 12 miles to the west on a farm outside of town.

Tired - we had left Longlac Ont that morning and had planned to stop in Winnipeg that night, however we made excellent time, arriving in Winnipeg at 1130p. I wasn't tired at all so I figured we'd just push past WPeg to Portage to avoid the morning rush. Bad mistake. Portage was booked solid...so on we went up the Yellowhead stopping at every little roadside motel along the way, and they were full too. At 2am we pulled into the Subway at Neepawa after being turned away from the motel across the road (as I recall it was the only place open at that time in the morning). I was done. We put our seats back, curled up under our jackets and caught a few hours shut eye. (Actually I lied, we moved next door to the farm implement dealer's parking lot as it was quieter and slept there). To this day we don't know what was going on that weekend.

Come to think of it, the last time we drove home, on the way back the T storm that we were trying to stay ahead of caught up with us at Neepawa. It made the drive from there to Winnipeg very interesting to say the least.

I grew up in on a farm NW of Nipawin SK (2.5 hours due west of The Pas, and from the look of things about the same size as Neepawa). When I was stationed in Ottawa we'd drive home for our annual fishing trip. Now that we're in Halifax, we fly.

We always stop at the McDonald's in Neepawa on the way to Wpg to get a gag and puke burger from the drive-through. Yes

Widux...............next time you are up this way e-mail me or call and I will get you over for a coffee or a cold one...........unless of course it is during bear season and I am busy guiding, then it may be a problem.
