Man I love This Guy. Just wont hunt with him

"Over on the left wing of the president’s party, there appears to be little curiosity in finding out what was learned from the terrorists. The kind of answers they’re after would be heard before a so-called “Truth Commission.” Some are even demanding that those who recommended and approved the interrogations be prosecuted, in effect treating political disagreements as a punishable offense, and political opponents as criminals. It’s hard to imagine a worse precedent, filled with more possibilities for trouble and abuse, than to have an incoming administration criminalize the policy decisions of its predecessors" Dick Cheney

I watched the entire speech and thought it was excellent. It was good to see Cheney finally speak up.

I know Bush probably thinks he's doing the new admin a favor by keeping a low profile, but I really wish he would make a statement and defend himself. The dems have been shredding him for months and not a peep out of him. Its not good to constantly hear the rantings from the left and no rebuttals from the previous admin.

Bush is silent because he knows he was had by criminals within his administration. The shredding isn't so much of Bush but of the criminal elements within his administration. I too listned to Cheney's speach. Sounded just like the lies and fearmongering I've heard for 8 years.

I hope they put that sadistic criminal in jail soon.

Criminality is not a policy difference, it's breaking the law.

We are a country of laws and no one is above them.

There is a cell in a supermax in Kansas with Cheney's name all over it. Sick perverted, sadistic criminal who should be locked up for the rest of his life.

I am certainly glad that 9/11 happened on Bush/Cheney watch. If they would have waited until 2009 with Obama/Biden we would all be either dead or learning the Koran. They would have cut and run from NYC and anywhere else that AQ decided to attack.
Cowgal would not be allowed to use a computer, much less have an opinion.
It was a pleasure and Honor to have had someone such as VP Cheney watching over me and my Country.
But I still would not go hunting with him !! lol

Yeah Jtap the pen may be mightier than the sword but both are equally as dangerous in Cheneys hands. Never liked him or Bush much but they did a great job after 911 and they beat the alternative.

I'm just glad Cheney's coming out and saying what needs to be said -- and what so many Republicans seem to be afraid to say. Maybe they'll realize that they own a pair and stop acting like abused spouses.

I agree Bunny, There was alot to be desired with both Bush and Cheney but their commitment to protect us and to do what was necessary and not take the easy way out earns both of them my respect.
Standing up and fighting back is never an easy task, especially when you have a big black eye.

I also agree Ex, I just wish Bush would step up, stand beside Cheney, and be counted and demand the truth, the whole truth.
I understand that Bush is showing some sort of tact and keeping a low profile for Obama to have a chance to implement his policies but when he is being drug thru the mud, with Obama leading the way, then that courtesy should be suspended.

The thing with Bush is he has tremendous respect for the office. Like every other Republican that held the office since goodness knows when, he stepped off the stage and stayed quiet out of respect. It's the Dems that keep trying to make it about them again.

Just don't know how to take that. Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree about that one. Of course if an adult had been in charge 9/11 probably never would have happened.

I do think it's kind of funny for a guy who got a CIA warning entitled "AQ about to fly airplains into buildings" and who can't follow the most baic rules of gun safety such as maybe not drinking, or not poining a gun at a fellow hunter, to be gving lectures about safety.

Dangerous Dick, sticking up for a failed regime.

Good point. The dems don't respect any office. Unless they're holding it at the time!
