Take a large plastic jar/bottle, make many holes in bottom, fill with fryer grease and a rotten fish and hang high from tree. It smell like hell and not going away anytime soon. Any similar contraption will do also.
Their products are geared towards deer hunting, but they make an unscented version of their product. You add an oz. of your scent to these small particles. The particles absorb the scent. These particles can now be spriinkled on the ground and the scent will dissipate over the next 7 days. If it rains the particles do absorb more moisture and will continue to dissipate the remaining scent in a diluted state until the moisture is gone.
Try to put your tree stand in a tree with plenty of background cover, keep the prevailing winds for that time of the year to your face, and take care of those pesky squeaks and creaks your stand may have developed while sitting in the shed. A good treestand lube can be made by heating petroleum jelly until it reaches a liquid form. Some hunters have reported success by including a cover scent in this mixture before applying it to their stands.
