Major Taboo (western cascade rifle)

I used to be obsessed with waterfowl hunting. Driving hours with three hundred full body decoys to get set up before sunrise just to shoot two geese. That was ten years ago. During that time I was very active in a certain duck forum sight that I had found. Over the years I was no in places long enough to get a hunting license or I was in a foreign country. It has been nearly ten years since I last hunted, it was a guided goose hunt that was a terrible experience. I now live in Portland and just bought all the guns back I had to sale to go to college. I was told by a friend we were hunting the Santiam unit, near lake Timothy Lake. I bought a tag despite having back surgery in early sept. I feel I can still get into some remote places off the road with my back but not too far. I know its taboo and looked down upon for the new guy that has not contributed to get some advice I am asking for advice. I do not know the area at all, I have general season western cascade deer tag. I would love to get a blacktail. I am willing to scout on weekdays, nearly every day until the second part of the season. Any info would be helpful and I promise that I will be a contributing part of the community once I get settled. PM would be great or share on here.
