Well I will say up front that

Well I will say up front that I did not go back and read all three pages but just decided to say what has worked for me. I started both of my kids off with a .243 and for hunting of antelope and deer sized animals it has been great and gave them no problems at all from the time they were 12 years old. We did have a very bad experience with a cow elk my daughter shot though even though her shot placement was good. When shee was a little older she moved up to a 30-06 but was a little gun shy until I had a Vais muzzle brake installed and she has been happy ever since. My son moved up to a Ruger .270 which he absolutely loves and hunts everything with. He's a lefty and Ruger had the perfect rifle for what he wanted in a laminated stainless model.
