It's a lot of fun when you're walking around with nothing to do. How do you cook the squirrel though? You just chop the meat up and make a stew out of it? is there any other ways? I just BBQ the whole squirrel and it's alright. I also shoot most of my squirrels and rabbits with a bow and a small game tip.

OutdoorsNole,
I have done a bit of squirrel hunting here in Florida. I have always fried them up with what some basic seasonings after cutting them up. Takes a few to make a meal. They make a good gravy also. I usually just make a simple milk gravy with the pan drippings after frying them. I suppose their diet will dictate their taste. The ones I hunt usually are in the oaks so acorns must be a big part of what they are eating. A lot of these gray squirrels get some size to them here in Florida. Have you had the chance to see any Fox squirrels in your area? By the way welcome to the forums.

I've seen one fox squirrel and it was in Virginia. I'll have to try some of those other things you said like frying the squirrel.

I use to see a few Fox squirrels around Ocala National Forest but I have not hunted that area in the last few years. I spend most my time hunting the Big Cypress Preserve now and it's not really the right enviroment for them.
