Good Morning!
For the past two evenings, between 1600-1615hrs. The same 8pointer is using the same trail to leave his bed. He is approx. 60 yds. from my stand. I would not shoot over 30 with my bow. My problem is, I'm hunting private property that borders the town forest, which there is no hunting allowed. I can't move my stand any closer to the trail. I've tried grunting/can calling but the buck won't leave that trail. I was going to try a rattle bag tonight. I've also hung some scent wicks- any other tricks/ ideas to try to get him to come into range?

Thanks. Bundy

No- you can't use decoys in Massachusetts. I went last night, did not see a thing, besides two turkeys beating up each other. It was warm yesterday also.

Bundy, what is up buddie?
A couple of things:
First off can you move your stand farther down his trail where he may come onto the land you are on? Thing is here if you have seen him multiple times he may have a sence that something is not quite right there and be reluctant to come close no matter what you do (tough telling how a deer thinks)

Second a buddie of mine is having some real success making up "mock scrapes". He has had different bucks come and investigate scrapes that he has created.

Hey Adkbear-
I'm kind of restricted on where to put my stand, not much woods in the area, but I might try the scrape. Thanks.
P.S.- Got another bear in NH this year, a 200 lb. sow with the bow. Last week in Maine I also took a 7 pointer with the .30-06

You are the Man Thumbs up
I am headed to Maine for a week of hunting this Sat. No bears for me this year. Saw one early season in the Adk's but did not get a shot. Got a scrub buck and a couple of does with the bow around home to put some meat in the freezer.

having any luck with this buck yet? Is it possible to try setting up a blind closer to the trail since you don't have lots of trees to work with or maybe try dragging a scented wick across his trail to your stand as your walking in. Good luck!

Hey Struttin'
Thanks for all the input. I tried a scent drag last night, no luck. I did not see a thing, I thought it would be a good night as it was pretty cool, 43 degrees. I'll give it another go today or tomorrow.
Thanks.

if you haven't seen in the last few days it might be best to leave that area alone for little while to get him a little more comfortable using that trail
