Looking for a Recent Copy of SCI Safari Magazine

Hi,

I am trying to locate a recent copy of Safari Club International (SCI) Safari Magazine that I can get into my hands relatively quickly (in the next couple of days, if possible).

Is there any place where Safari Magazine is sold off the shelf? Barnes and Noble or any similar bookstore? I haven't yet been able to find the magazine sold that way (at least, not in my internet searches).

Any suggestions on a way for me to obtain a copy quickly? Or to at least be able to glance through a copy? (I wonder if maybe a large public library might have copies available?)

I'd also be happy to buy a copy from someone or pay for shipping both ways if someone is willing to temporarily loan me a copy.

I'm in the vicinity of Houston, TX, by the way, if that helps with suggestions for some place I might be able to at least view a copy of the magazine locally.

I'll be contacting the magazine themselves on Monday, but I'm not sure if I have much of a chance of getting an expedited copy from them -- but you never know.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Do you need a certain issue or just an issue?

Thanks for the reply, CVC.

I could probably get by looking at just about any issue from the fairly recent past (the last year or so, I'd think, with the more recent the better).

We're going to be running a small ad in the magazine (hopefully a series of small ads over the course of the year) and I haven't had the chance to look at the magazine for comparisons to how other ads are laid out. I've got all the specs from the from the ad folks at Safari Magazine, so I know what my layout dimension options are, but I don't have a good feel for how other advertisers actually lay out their material.

I'm currently building an ad for the 2008 Houston Safari Club annual convention issue and their associated Hunter's Horn magazine, and I'm hoping to take the content from that ad and pare it down for use in the bigger (more expensive) Safari Magazine.

As a partial follow-up note, one of the Safari Magazine advertising reps e-mailed me today (Sunday) and said they'd try to send a copy of the magazine to me sometime this week. That's great....except that my ad copy is due later this week and I might end up having to send the ad to them without the benefit of actually seeing a layout sample of the actual magazine first.

Ahh, well. Just one of the hazards of wanting to place an ad so late in the year for next year's first issue. : confused?
